Braun Thermoscan 7 Ear Thermometer with Age Precision Review

We were recently sent the Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermometer with Age Precision to review. Arriving with everything you need to get started, including batteries, storage case and disposable lens filters, it is ready to go out right of the box. It also comes with a quick start guide to help get you started.

As a child gets older, the definition of fever changes, this is why Braun have developed the new Age Precision® technology, an age adjustable fever guidance system. Allowing you to set the age of your child so you can interpret the reading quickly, accurately and easily based on the age, using a simple colour coded display. The screen displays green if no fever, yellow if the temperature is elevated and red alert for a possibly high fever.

The thermometer comes with a patented pre-warmed tip which means it is gentle and more comfortable on your child's ear, we have a very basic one we bought several years ago and the children have always found the cold tip annoying and it is difficult to take their temperature when they are asleep.

This thermometer also comes with the ExacTemp® guidance system which confirms with a light and a beep when the thermometer is secured and in the correct position, this ensures an accurate reading in a few seconds. This function is particularly useful, as I have always been worried we aren't using ours correctly and therefore getting an incorrect reading. It also comes with a memory function which is great if need to monitor your child's temperature.

This thermometer is safe for the whole family including newborns and with disposable lens filters it doesn't require cleaning and is safe from cross contamination. The filter is easy to pop off with a little button on the underside of the thermometer.

It has a big screen for easy viewing and a night light feature, which means you can check in the night without needing to put a light on, very handy for poorly sleep babies.

The RRP Price is £49.99 and it is available from Boots, for something that can last many years for many children, I think the price is not unreasonable, especially with the piece of mind it gives you. However the extra lens filters will add to the cost, but you can get them in bulk from Amazon.
