Out and About in the City and the Mill Lakes

This weekend has seen us out and about in both the city and the park, with our first stop being Nottingham Light Night. An annual event which sees areas of Nottingham filled with light and sound, my sons class had done an installation so we went to see this and saw some light sabre fighting too.

My sons schools installation (it was too dark to find my sons jam jar lantern)...

The famous Mr Hood…

Light sabre action...

And finally our slightly gloomy Sunday walk, first stop looking at the pretty lichen…

Don't think we were going to see any water voles or crayfish today...

The mill lakes are massive and even though I have lived here all my life I didn't realise they were used as the water mills for cotton mills.

Walking to look at the ducks, biscuit in hand...

All wrapped up looking out over the massive lakes...

Puddle walking...

Looking at this tree with a massive 9 trunks coming off it...

  1. Fun both at night and day! The Leen looks like a very picturesque place to explore and puddle splashing is always fun! Thanks for linking up and sharing your family fun with Country Kids.
